I shot all these using a Holga and Kodak T-Max 400.  I developed and printed these myself.

A New Direction (sort of)

     Last fall I took a photography class and as a result started in a (sort of) new direction with my on-going series of cycling photos using my Holgas and Brownie Hawkeye.  Instead of only photgraphing the actual race I have started photographing spectators and what happens before and after a race.  I feel like I am spectating spectators. 
    This whole series has been alot of fun.  I enjoyed going out and shooting every weekend last fall and I had alot of film to develop.  Since I develop and print all my own film I am very slow to post.  I don't have a film scanner or my own darkroom so sometimes it takes me awhile to get into Portland and print.  I think I will post one photo a week for now.  Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment or critque my work.

The 4th Annual Juried Plastic Camera Show

I've been so busy that I forgot to announce that I had two images accepted into The 4th Annual Juried Plastic Camera Show at Rayko Photo Gallery in San Francisco.  The top image has never been accepted into a show prior to this one.  I shot it using my Holga and Kodak 400 T-Max film.   The bottom image was the very first image I ever had accepted into a show about a year ago.  I shot it using my Brownie Hawkeye (with a flipped lens) using Kodak 100 T-Max film.  I develop my own film and do my own printing in a traditional wet darkroom.

Krappy Kamera XIII

     I'm excited to announce that I had this image accepted into the ever popular Krappy Kamera Show.  This is the big one, meaning it's the longest running toy and plastic camera show in existence.   The judges for the show were Phillip S. Block and Steve Rooney of The International Center of Photography in New York City.  I feel very honored to have had an image accepted.
    I shot this image last year when Karl and I were in New York City for the opening of last year's Krappy Kamera Opening.  The show runs from March 1st - April 2nd, 2011.  Here is a link to Soho's website.  They should have an on-line gallery of all accepted images shortly.  Click here to view Soho Photos Web Gallery.  Scroll to the bottom of Soho's page to view galleries.

Holga-Out-of-the-Box

I found out today that I had this image accepted into the "Holga, Out-of-the-Box" show.  I'm very excited and honored.  I shot this image this fall at a  Cycloross Bike Race in Portland, Oregon.  The first roll I shot I accidentally had my camera set on "Bulb" and the entire roll was way over-exposed.  There was one image that I thought had potentinal so I went out the next week and shot in a similar situation using a ND filter so as not to over-expose so much.  I was pleased with the results and am hoping to explore shooting more on "Bulb" while hand holding the camera.  Here is a link to the press release http://www.tccphoto.com/blog/?p=137
